Have you ever noticed how fast the time goes when you are focused on
something important? Or how slow it feels when you are bored out of your mind? Isn’t that weird? We know that time is a construct and is constant but why does it shift when we’re in a different headspace? The same can be said about our acting careers. When things are popping up, we seem to manage quite well. When things are slow, not going our way, we seem to focus on how slow our progress is. Giving time, time is one way we can be career minded and not focused on how slow it sems to be moving. Giving time, time on this episode of Casting Actors Cast.
Reasons we are continually dissatisfied with how our careers are going
1. We expected it to happen sooner, so we feel unworthy
2. Our projection/fantasy about our success is never real
3. External circumstances interrupt our career plans
4. We allow rationalization to keep us from forward thinking
5. The pace is never comfortable for processing naturally

2. Understand what is within our control and what is not
3. Prevent us from unrealistic expectations (we move on)
4. Sometimes things work out without our influence
5. Allows for more opportunities to present themselves

2. Feel prepared await opportunity
3. Embrace healthy distraction
4. Monitor your progress in a healthy way
5. Know it is a marathon and not a 100 yard dash
As I move forward in my work life and in my life in general, for that matter, I am always struck by how I use my frustration against me. Rather than taking a moment to see the big picture, I get lost in the maze of the moment. This keeps me stressed until something else happens to distract me. I think many creative people do the same thing. You might be one. Let’s do better. Let’s try to remember to breathe, take a step back and know that we are exactly where we need to be. That is giving time, time.
